PM Narendra Modi Inaugurated 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention in Indore Madhya Pradesh. 

Theme for 2023 will be " Diaspora: reliable partners for Indias progress in Amrit kaal." 

Pravasi  Divas  also known as Non- Resident Indian Day is observed on January 9 every year to recognize the  contribution  of Oversea Indians  in the growth of india.

NRI Day, also honors Mahatma Gandhi's return to india from South Africa  in 1915.

 Pravasi Bharatya  Divas 2023 has conducted in indore,  Madhya Pradesh,  from 8-10 January, 2023.

Pravasi Bharatya Divas is to give NRIs forum to discuss their attitudes toward india and to build bridges of goodwill with their fellow citizens. Over 3500 diaspora  members from nearly  70 different  countries have registered for the Pravasi Bharatya Divas convention. 

A postal stamp  'Surakshit Jaayen, Prashikshit Jaayen' was released to underline the importance of safe, legal, orderly and skilled migration. 

Special Guests of Honour for this year Pravasi Divas   H.E.Dr Mohamad Irfaan Ali, the president of the cooperative Republic of Guyana,  and H.E.  Mr Chandrikapersad Santokhi were present. 

PM  stated  that he calls every Pravasi Bharatya a National  ambassador of India  as they echo the voice of powerful and capable India when the world evaluates  their contributions. "You are the Rashtradoots,  of India's heritage,  of Make In India, of Yoga and Ayurveda,  of India's

Cottage industries  and handicrafts " At the same time, you are also the brand  ambassadors of India's millets."
